Our fundraising began the first week of December and shortly there after we began training. I feel a little guilty posting my training photos from Florida where it’s been sunny and warm while Jeff is spinning on a trainer in the Pacific Northwest (where it is doing it’s usual thing this time of year….. rain, rain, and rain some more).

Training for this huge adventure is going to be work. We need to build up our strength and stamina for long days in the saddle and for the hills we will face, 3,500 feet of climbing on day 1 as an example. It’s not all work, fortunately there are often moments on a training ride that add a bit of joy to the day. For example, yesterday when I was feeling exhausted and grabbing a quick bite to eat to refuel along came two adorable dogs eager to say hello. According to their owner I am not the only fan of peanut butter and crackers. A smile lit across my face and stuck with me all the way home.
