Saddle Time

Saddle time refers to time spent in motion on the bike,  gaining familiarity on the road, building strength and endurance, and preparing your body for long hours sitting in the same position for miles and miles, day after day.

We are getting closer and closer to our departure date, it is now just three weeks away.  Since December we’ve been trying to build endurance, each week challenging ourselves with longer and longer training rides, or saddle time.  This week I did two 80 mile rides back to back followed by a lazy recovery ride today…. a short 30 miler. Back in December 30 miles seemed like a good work out….  today…  compared to 80 or 90 mile rides,  30 feels like a joy ride.

79.6 miles……   close enough to 80.

A friend spotted at my snack break in Deerfield Beach.  He was curious about by peanut butter crackers but I was too hungry to share.

John in Sunny Isles, FL. Grateful for another gorgeous day on the bike.
Another 80 mile day in the books.
I tend not to race anywhere……  I am more team Dilly Dally.  I love all the distractions along the way.
